- On 17 October 2023, the Council adopted a directive amending the EU directive on administrative cooperation in taxation.
- The changes involve reporting and exchanging information on income from crypto asset transactions and advance tax rulings for wealthy individuals.
- The directive covers various types of crypto assets, including decentralized assets, stablecoins, electronic money tokens, and certain non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
- The amending directive will be published in the EU Official Journal and will take effect twenty days after publication.
