- New rules aimed at eliminating the use of single-use plastics (SUPs) will become binding as of 1 July 2024.
- Prohibitions against selling or using SUPs in a business will be far-reaching, affecting many entities.
- New fees will be due from businesses that (i) supply food and drinks for takeaway in single-use packages and (ii) sell particular single-use products to consumers (a so-called “plastic tax”).
