- Luxembourg has formalized mandatory B2B e-invoicing using a Peppol four-corner network, with a phased rollout starting January 1, 2028, for receiving e-invoices, and later for issuing based on company size.
- Unlike neighboring countries, Luxembourg’s approach is “lighter-touch,” focusing solely on e-invoicing without implementing a domestic real-time tax reporting requirement, distinguishing it as a simpler jurisdiction for compliance.
- The reform leverages existing infrastructure from mandatory B2G e-invoicing, extending the Peppol network for private-sector transactions and emphasizing the benefits of automation, reduced errors, and faster payments.
