To curb tax evasion and widen the scope of taxpayers preparing and submitting tax returns more efficiently, the Egyptian Tax Authority is implementing the electronic receipt system.
The Egyptian Minister of Finance has confirmed that a pilot implementation of the electronic receipt system was launched on 15 April 2022, with the mandatory phase starting on 1 July 2022.
