Article
Malaysia’s tax authority (HASiL/LHDN) has issued updates to the MyInvois Software Development Kit that businesses must action ahead of an August production change. The SDK 1.0 release introduces new document versions—SVDP 1.2 (without digital signature) and SVDP 1.3 (with signature)—to support the e-Invoice Special Voluntary Disclosure Programme, an amnesty letting taxpayers regularise e-invoice compliance, effective until 31 December 2027; these versions may only be used during that window. Separately, from 1 August 2026 the Validate Taxpayer’s TIN API will validate both the TIN and the Business Registration Number, so a mismatch between a buyer’s BRN and HASiL records can cause TIN validation to fail and stall invoice issuance. The current SSM BRN format is 12 digits (e.g. 202500001234), and sellers should collect accurate BRNs from buyers and update outdated records via MyTax. Recent SDK changes also remove support for scientific notation in amount fields and limit State Code 17 to consolidated e-invoices or transactions outside Malaysia, so master-data cleanup and validation testing should begin now.
