Since the start of 2026, the Caribbean Tax Outreach Programme has brought together tax officials and development partners working in the region to share experiences and streamline capacity-building efforts to address regional tax priorities.
The second virtual workshop in the series, VAT: Digital Trade, Design and Implementation, gathered over 250 participants from 13 Caribbean jurisdictions to discuss co-ordinated, inclusive approaches to support the consistent application of national VAT systems in an increasingly digitalised global economy. The Bahamas and Barbados shared their experiences in implementing VAT, particularly their work with digital platforms in the tourism and real estate sectors.
