- Lithuania’s Ministry of Finance has proposed an amendment to Article 19 of the VAT Law No. IX-751, introducing a reduced VAT rate of 12% for specific services.
- The reduced VAT rate applies to accommodation services regulated by tourism laws, passenger transport on regular routes, and the transport of passengers’ luggage, as well as entry to various art and cultural institutions and events.
- The amendment aims to harmonize VAT regulations and is under consultation from April 16 to May 2, 2025, with the goal of supporting tourism and cultural sectors.
