- The Belgian Chamber of Representatives has approved a law amending the Value Added Tax Law regarding the special tax-free regime for small businesses.
- Under the amended regime, small businesses with an annual turnover below EUR 25,000 can opt for VAT exemption for supplies of goods and services in Belgium.
- Additionally, small businesses established in other EU Member States can also opt for exemption if their annual turnover in Belgium is below EUR 25,000 and their annual turnover in the EU is below EUR 100,000. Certain operations, such as construction services and supplies of certain goods, are excluded from the tax-free regime. The amendments will take effect on January 1, 2025.
