  • EU & Europe rate/duty shifts: From 1 July 2026 the EU applies a temporary €3 customs duty per item on low-value consignments (up to €150) from outside the EU, while Poland and Spain ended their fuel VAT cuts on 30 June 2026; Denmark zero-rates VAT on books, e-books and audiobooks (from 25%), Austria cut essential food items to 4.9%, and Ireland permanently lowered food, catering and hairdressing to 9%.   • E-invoicing momentum worldwide: Nigeria’s second wave of e-invoicing and e-reporting became mandatory from 1 July 2026 (with a six-month penalty soft-landing), Oman brings 150+ of its largest taxpayers into its first phase from 1 August 2026, Argentina expanded obligations to financial, insurance and education sectors, and the UK confirmed Peppol as its core e-invoicing interoperability network for 2029.
