- The Republic of Congo has launched a national awareness campaign for its Certified Electronic Invoicing System (SFEC) in Brazzaville, ahead of the mandatory rollout on 1 July 2026, marking a significant step in modernizing the country’s tax administration framework.
- The SFEC system aims to enhance transparency, improve traceability of commercial transactions, and combat tax fraud, while also broadening the tax base. It introduces structured digital invoicing processes that allow tax authorities to better monitor and control economic activity.
- A pilot group of companies has already tested the system, and all businesses will be required to connect to the platform from the effective date. This represents a shift toward continuous transaction controls, aligning Congo with broader global trends in digital tax reporting.
