Oman Initiates Service Provider Accreditation for Fawtara E-Invoicing Platform

  • The Oman Tax Authority (OTA) has launched the Fawtara portal, initiating the registration for service providers and keeping pace with its 2026 e-invoicing implementation schedule.
  • The OTA has released a Service Provider Registration Manual outlining accreditation requirements and is refining e-invoicing regulations based on feedback from pilot program participants.
  • Oman is adopting a decentralized “5-corner model” based on Peppol, requiring accredited service providers to act as crucial intermediaries between taxpayers’ ERP systems and the Tax Authority, using specific structured formats like OM PINT (XML) and PDF/A-3.
