- Postponement of Consolidation: Estonia has decided to delay the consolidation of VAT (Value Added Tax) and ESL (Excise Goods Tax) returns into a single form, with the new implementation date moved from January 2025 to the January 2027 reporting period.
- Simplification of Reporting: The consolidation aims to simplify tax compliance for all VAT-registered taxpayers in Estonia, including both established and non-established entities, thereby reducing the administrative burden on businesses.
- Unchanged Submission Deadlines: Despite the postponement, the deadline for filing the consolidated VAT return will remain the same, requiring taxpayers to submit their returns by the 20th day of the month following the end of the reporting period. Businesses are advised to prepare for the new form and update their compliance systems accordingly.
