The Dubai government has decided to reinstate the emirate’s alcohol tax. The 30% tax on alcoholic beverages was suspended in 2023, with the suspension subsequently extended to 2024. Although a reduction to 15% was expected, the alcohol tax will be reinstated from 1 January 2025 at the 30% rate.
