- As of July 1, 2024, Denmark’s new Bookkeeping Act mandates the digitization of accounting processes for medium and large enterprises, requiring the use of certified digital bookkeeping software or custom solutions compliant with the law.
- The act also introduces obligatory B2B e-invoicing, with companies required to utilize the NemHandel platform or the Peppol network, adhering to the Peppol BIS 3.0 (EN16931-compliant) standard or the local OIOUBL format.
- The implementation is phased, with the first phase targeting medium and large enterprises from July 1, 2024, followed by companies using self-developed software from January 1, 2025, and personally owned companies with an annual net turnover exceeding DKK 300,000 from January 1, 2026.
