Starting from July 2025, businesses in Germany are required to register their electronic cash register systems with the German Tax Authority. This is aimed at improving transparency and ensuring proper documentation of transactions. The German Ministry of Finance (BMF) announced that businesses must report their cash register systems, including TSEs, to the authorities. Systems acquired before 1 July 2025 must be reported by 31 July 2025, while those purchased after that date must be reported within one month of purchase. Businesses have the option to register their cash register system via the My ELSTER platform and the ERiC interface from January 2025.
