In 2023, 13,023 tax audits were completed, of which 7053 (54%) were related to VAT. The tax office also completed 7186 customs and tax inspections, of which 4082 (57%) concerned VAT. VAT sanctions were imposed in 279 completed customs and tax inspections and 1414 completed tax audits, according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
