- The implementation of the national e-invoicing system (eFaktúra) in Slovakia is underway, following the European Commission’s “VAT in the Digital Age” initiative and the legislative framework to be approved by EU Member States.
- The draft of this year’s National Reform Program highlights the inclusion of QR codes on taxpayer invoices and pre-filled tax return forms for individuals as part of efforts to optimize the financial administration and reduce errors in tax payment.
- The financial administration aims to introduce QR codes by late May and June 2024, with the first output documents containing QR codes being sent to taxpayers around the same time.
