Minister of Finance Vincent Van Peteghem has extended the reduced VAT rate of 6% for demolition and reconstruction to the construction of rental homes for families and singles. This aims to boost the supply of affordable rental housing in response to the current shortage. The measure includes social conditions such as a maximum habitable area of 200 m² and eligibility for homes used as a primary residence.
