The Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (LHDNM) plans to gradually introduce mandatory electronic invoicing starting from 1 July 2024 to 1 January 2027. The new system will cover all domestic and cross-border transactions conducted by Malaysian taxpayers and will follow a Continuous Transaction Control model. The pilot phase is set to be launched in May 2024, allowing authorities and businesses to gather experience before the system’s first phase launch in August 2024.
