Tax incentive for electronic invoicing in Belgium

The Belgian government has proposed a draft law to amend the country’s VAT Code, introducing a business-to-business (B2B) electronic invoicing mandate by January 2026. The aim is to digitalize and speed up data exchange between companies and the Federal Public Service Finance. The bill includes a tax incentive allowing a 120% tax deduction for electronic invoicing digital investments starting from January 2025. This incentive covers implementation and consultancy costs. The government emphasizes the benefits of e-invoicing for businesses, including faster payments and lower costs. The legislation also highlights the importance of adopting the European Peppol standard.
