The VIDA initiative in the EU, including the introduction of B2B e-invoicing, is behind schedule. The EU Parliament has voted for a one-year postponement of all three ViDA pillars, with further postponements likely until 2032. Some EU Member States will proceed with their own plans. Belgium aims to introduce B2B e-invoicing on 1 January 2026, while Germany’s draft law is still pending. France plans to introduce e-invoicing in stages from September 2026, and Poland’s introduction has been postponed with a potential start date in January 2025. Romania has already taken steps towards mandatory e-invoicing, and Spain is facing technical delays with an expected introduction in summer 2025.
