The Goods and Services Tax (GST) has been implemented on registered post and courier services, commencing on November 1, 2023. These services are now subject to a total GST rate of 18%, comprising 9% for Central GST and 9% for State GST, with the shares evenly distributed between the central and state governments. GST had previously been introduced for Speed Post services sometime ago.
