- A new requirement for importing and exporting goods in Egypt has been announced by the Ministry of Finance.
- Starting from July 1, 2023, companies must be registered in the e-invoicing system and include GS1 codes on their e-invoices to access the NAFEZA electronic platform.
- To comply, companies must first register on the Egyptian Tax Authority’s website, obtain GS1 codes for their products, and create e-invoices using various software programs.
- When importing goods, companies must send the GS1 codes to the supplier, who will create an e-invoice that must be uploaded to the CargoX platform.
- When exporting goods, companies must create an e-invoice linked to the commercial export invoice and have it verified by Egyptian customs authorities to complete export procedures.
