Belgium has announced changes to VAT compliance, effective from January 1, 2024. The deadline for quarterly VAT returns will shift to the 25th of the month. Substitute VAT returns will be drawn up if the VAT return is not submitted on time. VAT can be reclaimed via the periodic return if all VAT returns have been submitted in the six months prior to the refund period.
