- Finland is considering amending its VAT Act to comply with EU VAT directive requirements following its accession to NATO.
- The proposed amendment would exempt domestic supplies of goods and services to other NATO member jurisdictions participating in joint defense efforts outside their jurisdiction from VAT.
- It would also exempt supplies of goods and services to other EU member states for the same purpose, as well as imports of goods to Finland for joint defense efforts.
- The changes are expected to take effect as soon as possible.
