France’s Finance Ministry plans to launch an electronic invoicing pilot program from January 1, 2024, with the goal of pre-filling taxpayers’ value-added tax returns and reducing fraud. From July 1, 2024, all businesses, regardless of their size, will be required to issue electronic invoices and link their invoicing systems with the tax agency for real-time reporting. Businesses can use third-party software or the public invoicing portal Chorus Pro. The Ministry is accepting software provider applications for state recognition and applications from businesses and software providers to participate in the pilot initiative until June 26, 2023. Successful applicants will be announced in September.
