When it comes to the taxation of Non-Fungible Token (NFT) sales there is a feeling of déjà vu for global indirect tax professionals. Those familiar with the seismic VAT/GST rule changes at the start of the 2010s changing how the sales of cross-border digital services were to be taxed can see the similarities. Once again, it is about tax jurisdictions playing catchup but there is one key difference: the foundations are already in place.
