The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is investigating whether the academic independence of the indirect taxation specialization of the masters program in tax law is sufficiently guaranteed. An article by Follow The Money would show that the sponsors of the study, a number of tax firms as well as the tax authorities, influence the content of the study and the appointment of the teachers.
