An initiative bill has been submitted by MPs Tony van Dijck and Edgar Mulder to amend the OB Act 1968 and the BES Tax Act in connection with the VAT rate to 0% for foodstuffs (Affordable Groceries Act).
When the Act is introduced, foodstuffs will be included in Table II of the 1968 OB Act for a period of 12 months after entry into force, as a result of which they will fall under the nil rate of Article 9, paragraph 1, part b, OB Act 1968 from that moment on.
