Excise duty in 2023: increase in rates and tightening of the system, but also some simplifications

There have been several significant changes to the excise tax since the beginning of 2023.

And so, from January 1, 2023, the rates increased from:

• ethyl alcohol – from PLN 6,903 in 2022 to PLN 7,248 per hectolitre of ethyl alcohol contained in 100% vol. of finished product,
• beer – from PLN 9.43 in 2022 to PLN 9.90 per   hectolitre for each degree Plato of the finished product,
• wine – from PLN 191 in 2022 to PLN 201 per hectolitre of the finished product,
• fermented beverages – from PLN 191 in 2022 to PLN 201 per hectolitre of the finished product,
• intermediate products – from PLN 385 in 2022 to PLN 404 per hectolitre of the finished product.
