Customs & Global Trade Update Week 49-2022

Week 49-2022 – Read Only Version. This week was full of events:
As the international community gathers in Uruguay, governments have been eager to show their commitment to eradicating plastic by 2040: for example, the EU revealed steps for a circular economy. In other news, experts in customs and international trade should think about what was said at the EU’s tax symposium last week, where the future of EU #taxes was shown. In addition, the #EU criminalised sanction evasion, improved #cybersecurity, and required climate and human rights due diligence for both EU and non-EU enterprises. The UCC has also changed! In the #UnitedKingdom, the most recent NTB research finds that #Brexit is costly, and the #UK-Japan free trade pact falls short of expectations. UK #NCTS and #CDS are still sometimes unavailable, generating trade friction. The new UK Taxation (Cross-Border) Act 2018 notice has requirements for #CDS, and there are new sanctions between the UK and Russia. In the United States, the Customs Broker Regulations are being modified. The #Huawei #ZTE ban is also making headlines. This version covers all of this and more.
