- As of 1 January 2023, the threshold for mandatory VAT registration will be increased from BGN 50,000 (approx. EUR 25,000) to BGN 100,000 (approx. EUR 50,000).
- Bulgaria has submitted a request for derogation from Article 287 of the VAT Directive.
- The amendments in the VAT Act envisage a possibility for VAT de-registration if a taxable person’s turnover does not exceed the new threshold of BGN 100,000.
