Upon the partial transposition of the Directive (EU) no. 2019/904, of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 5 June 2019, on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, by the Decree-Law no. 78/2021, of September 24, with the Portuguese State Budget Law for 2021, it was introduced a contribution on single-use plastic (or multi-material with plastic) packaging, in the amount of €0.30 per each package (exemptions and exclusions also foreseen within the law in force).
