The Ministry of Justice is planning changes to limit the use of the so-called active regret and extending the limitation periods for fiscal crimes and offenses. The amendment to the Fiscal Penal Code also provides for stricter penalties for taxpayers. The Ministry of Finance, in turn, plans that the imposition of fines in certain situations will be handled by the Trade Inspection and city guards.
