The once stormy growth of the Chinese online store and tech group Alibaba came to a halt in the past quarter. In its home market, the company was struggling with the consequences of the severe corona lockdowns in many cities, which disrupted the supply of goods and made consumers more cautious. In addition, fewer customers in Europe ordered something through its subsidiary AliExpress, now that VAT must also be paid on packages under 22 euros from outside the European Union.
