The European Commission has announced the launch of four new infringement proceedings against the UK for not complying with the Protocol on Ireland/ Northern Ireland, which was agreed to as part of the Brexit withdrawal agreement to protect the Good Friday (Belfast) Agreement and avoid a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.
