Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are calling for a broader scope and faster implementation of the European Commission’s (EC) proposed Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
In addition to the products covered by CBAM proposed by the Commission – iron and steel, refineries, cement, organic basic chemicals, and fertilisers – MEPs want it expanded to include aluminium, hydrogen, polymers, and organic chemicals.
