The Supreme Court has dismissed Zipvit Ltd’s appeal concerning the recovery of input tax on services that the Royal Mail had incorrectly treated as exempt, applying the explanation provided by the CJEU in January. In order for Zipvit to be able to recover input tax, VAT must have been “due” or “paid”.
