Shop owners in Oman have been told by the Consumer Protection Authority to clearly label or mark those items that are in the zero percent value added tax list so as to not confuse customers or try to trick them into paying more for such goods. This came after some complaints by customers regarding the absence of labels
identifying goods included and exempted from tax, leading to fallacies that occur in shopping centres and exploitation by some traders due to lack of awareness among customers.
