The federal core cabinet has reached an agreement on a third energy package. The Vivaldi government is allocating an additional $1.33 billion to print household bills.
New measures to lower the energy bill agreed within the government:
- VAT rate on gas will be reduced from 21 to 6 percent. The electricity rate had already fallen to 6 percent earlier. Both reductions will run until the end of September
- Excise duties on diesel and petrol are immediately reduced by 17.5 cents per liter
- The broad social rate will also be extended until September
- If you heat your house on oil, you will receive an extra discount of 200 euros
