Anguilla’s Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has announced the launch of a taxpayer and public engagement program in preparation for the implementation of the new Goods and Services Tax (GST) on 1 July 2022. As previously reported, the GST is replacing Accommodation Tax, Communication Levy, Environmental Levy, Public Entertainment Tax, and Interim Goods Tax (IGT). The standard GST rate is 13% and the registration threshold is annual turnover or expected annual turnover of XCD 300,000, with registration required within 15 days of recognizing that the threshold is met. Where the threshold is not met, voluntary registration may be considered by the IRD. The first due date for GST will be 31 August 2022 in respect of the July period.
Further information can be found on the IRD’s GST webpage and GST Documents Library.
