When I first started reviewing the potential VAT/GST taxation of NFTs, I had a very simple approach: it was just a digital service and the VAT/GST rules that apply on digital services will just apply to NFTs. My initial approach, while partially correct, was too narrow and the subject matter is much more complex especially when certain scenarios are taken into account.
