HMRC is experiencing significant delays in many areas including processing applications for and changes to VAT group registrations. HMRC Policy team has given the following advice to businesses awaiting HMRC action in relation to delays in respect of VAT group applications where a prospective group member is either registered or unregistered for VAT and a return becomes due prior to the application being granted.
