To stimulate domestic demand for sustainably produced food, one could consider subsidies for farmers who produce sustainably and a reduction in VAT to make sustainably produced products cheaper for consumers. This is what the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) writes in a letter to the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.
