Following the introduction of VAT in Oman on 16 April 2021, the Oman Tax Authority (OTA) and certain other government ministries and authorities have issued additional guidance and clarification regarding the VAT treatment of supplies in connection with “special zones” and zero-rated items. There also is an important issue to note in connection with VAT registration by nonresidents.
