The new VAT rules for e-commerce must be implemented from 1 July next. Further postponement is no longer to be expected and so the Tax and Customs Administration is hastily setting up an emergency trail to be able to implement the rules. That is far from ideal, but doing nothing will make the Netherlands worse off.
