In July 2020, the European Commission a so-called ”Package for fair and simple taxation”, including action plans on both direct and indirect taxation which will be worked in 2 phases. First phase will be 2020 and 2021, second phase is for 2022-2023

At the end of 2020, following actions have been taken:
- Action #10: Roadmap has been publised on ”Update the directive on administrative cooperation” – Public consultation will take place First Quarter of 2021
- Action #17: Public consultation has been launched on ”Charter on taxpayer’s rights”. Input from 2 organizations has been published. We assume more input received will be published soon
- Action #18: Update VAT rules on Financial Services: Public consultation has taken place and results are publicly available
- Action #19: Transforming the status of the VAT Committee
- One December 18, 2020, theEuropean Commission adopted proposal to adapt decision-making process for interpreting certain VAT concepts (VAT Committee) – Commission Adoption is open for feedback.
