Draft E-Invoicing Regulations for Public Consultation

Public comments on the draft electronic billing list

The General Authority for Zakat and Income announced that it has started receiving public opinions and suggestions regarding the draft “electronic billing regulation”, which was recently published by the Authority on its website ( gazt.gov.sa ) .

The authority stated that the regulation aims to reduce administrative burdens on taxpayers, raise the percentage of tax commitment, and limit the volume of hidden economy transactions, in addition to combating commercial concealment, as the regulation will work to regulate the process of issuing electronic invoices and keeping them with the taxpayers.

Zakat and Income added that the regulations stipulate the provisions related to electronic invoices, their requirements and conditions, for the purposes of VAT.

The General Authority for Zakat and Income called on interested parties, including stakeholders and the public, to express their opinions and submit their proposals on the draft “electronic billing regulation”, no later than the seventeenth of October of this year, 2020 AD.
