The Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister for India Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman on 24.03.2020 announced several important relief measures in the areas of Income Tax, Goods and Service Tax, Customs & Central Excise, Corporate Affairs, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, Fisheries, Banking Sector and Commerce etc., taken by the Government of India in view of COVID-19 outbreak, especially on statutory and regulatory compliance matters related to several sectors.
Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister also stated that the Government of India has begun working on an economic package to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic which may be announced shortly.
