Canadian exporters should be aware of significant upcoming changes to Canada’s export reporting systems, as discussed in our Tax Insights “Notice to exporters: Mandatory electronic reporting coming July 2020.” According to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), starting July 1, 2020:
- exporters will be required to report all exports electronically using one of only two available methods, and
- paper reporting will no longer be accepted
Exporters should review their reporting practices and prepare to transition to a new system in the coming months.
